SCOTT ABEL

Keynote Speaker, CEO and co-founder, Spiceworks

Scott co-founded Spiceworks in 2006 with three other executives from Motive. Under his direction Spiceworks has grown to become the fastest growing, most widely used IT application in history. Their social IT management platform is now used by more than 5 million IT pros in 196 countries. With over 28 years in the tech industry, including 7 years working for Steve Jobs, Scott is a serial entrepreneur. At the start of the Internet era, he co-founded Motive, which grew into one of Austin's largest software companies. Prior to Motive, Scott was VP of Worldwide Professional Services for NeXT Software where he pioneered their consulting organization, growing the business from zero to $14 million in revenue in just two years. Previously, Scott held business and software development positions at Apollo Computer, Motorola and PSW Technologies. He holds a BS degree in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin and is an avid martial artist who holds several black belts. 

 

THOMAS A. LIMONCELLI

Author, The Practice of Cloud Administration & Time Management for System Administrators

Thomas A. Limoncelli is an internationally recognized author, speaker, and system administrator. His best known books include Time Management for System Administrators (OReilly) and The Practice of System and Network Administration (Addison-Wesley). He works in New York City at Stack Exchange, home of ServerFault.com and StackOverflow.com. His new book, The Practice of Cloud Administration has just shipped. 

CHRISTOPHER PENN

VP of Marketing Technology, SHIFT Communications

Christopher S. Penn has been featured as a recognized authority in many books, publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times, BusinessWeek and US News & World Report, and television networks such as PBS, CNN, CNBC, Fox News, and ABC News for his leadership in new media and marketing. In 2012 and again in 2013, Forbes Magazine recognized him as one of the top 50 most influential people in social media and digital marketing; Marketo Corporation named him a Marketing Illuminator, and PR News nominated him as both Social Media Person of the Year and Social Media Icon MVP in 2014. 

Mr. Penn is the Vice President of Marketing Technology at SHIFT Communications, a public relations firm, as well as co-founder of the groundbreaking PodCamp New Media Community Conference, and co-host of the Marketing Over Coffee marketing podcast. He is an adjunct professor of Internet marketing and the lead subject matter expert and professor of Advanced Social Media at the University of San Francisco. He’s the author of the best-selling book Marketing White Belt: Basics for the Digital Marketer. 

 

 

JEFFREY SNOVER

Distinguished Engineer and Lead Architect for the Windows Server & System Center Division, Microsoft

Jeffrey Snover is a Distinguished Engineer and Lead Architect for the Windows Server & System Center Division, and is the inventor of Windows PowerShell, an object-based distributed automation engine, scripting language, and command line shell. A fourteen year veteran to the company with over 30 years of industry experience as the Divisional Architect for the Management and Services Division, Jeffrey provides technical direction across Microsoft’s management technologies and product solutions. He was an architect in the office of the CTO at Tivoli and a development manager at NetView, and has also worked as a consulting engineer and development manager at DEC, where he led various network and systems management projects. Jeffrey held 8 patents prior to joining Microsoft, and has registered 30 patents since. He's a frequent speaker at industry and research conferences on a variety of management and language topics.
