Tunnel Safety & Fire Protection

Tunnel safety has improved drastically over the past few years throughout Australia and New Zealand but issues remain, specifically around fire protection. Safety is a key driver for all organizations involved in the life cycle of a tunnel and they all need to contribute if lasting solutions are to be found. Tunnel Safety and Fire Protection will focus on strategies to improve safety throughout the design, construction, operations and maintenance stages of the tunnel life cycle. The conference will also discuss pre-emptive safety strategies, and explore how fire risk and potential disaster can be solved with earlier collaboration with emergency services.

Issues to be covered include:

  • Case studies from Australia and international tunnel projects

  • Innovations in the design and construction to ensure maximum safety standards are reached

  • Improvements in tunnel operations to prevent accidents occurring

  • Effective fire protection strategies to improve all tunnel
