Camp Smith - HQ USPACOM Technology Day



Join us during the 22nd Annual FBC Hawaii Technology Day Series for our Camp Smith – HQ USPACOM event on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. This annual series of technology days takes place at military bases around Oahu, HI. For over 20 years this series has had a history of success, bringing in quality DoD, military and civilian personnel to network with IT industry partners at each location.

 

Over 275 DoD and military personnel attended this event from Camp HM Smith in in 2014. Some of their job descriptions inlcuded: Deputy Chief Knowledge Management, Director Communications, Director Mobile Communications, Senior Project Manager, Company Commander, Data Chief, Cyber Chief, Watch Chief, COMSEC Theater Manager, Lead Engineer, IT Specialist, Visual Information Specialist and more. 



Camp HM Smith is the headquarters of Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC), as well as the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) and Special Operations Command Pacific. There are approximately 1,500 marines and support staff located at headquarters MARFORPAC and 500 joint personnel located at headquarters USPACOM.



All personnel at Camp HM Smith will be invited to attend this expo which takes place at the Sunset Lanai. 



About USPACOM


USPACOM is one of six Unified Combatant Commands of the United States Armed Forces. Commander, U.S. Pacific Command (CDRUSPACOM) is the senior U.S. military authority in the Pacific Command area of responsibilities. The CDRUSPACOM reports to the President of the United States through the Secretary of Defense and is supported by four component commands: U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. Pacific Air Forces, U.S. Army Pacific, and U.S. Marine Forces, Pacific. These commands are headquartered in Hawaii and have forces stationed and deployed throughout the region.



PACOM J6 is the main IT component at Camp Smith. The mission of PACOM J6 is to provide integrated theater C4 capabilities to the Pacific Command in cooperation with its regional military partners through network operations, operational planning, and coalition interoperability. 



The counterpart to USPACOM J6 on the Marine side at Camp Smith is the G6. The G6 plans, directs and coordinates the training, staffing and equipping of Marines to augment and reinforce MARFORPAC with C4 capabilities. Evaluate and enhance the operational C4 readiness of MARFORPAC through the efficient/effective management of G6 resources.
