Center for Digital Education Market Briefing: Bay Area CA 2015



The Center for Digital Education is hosting a Market Briefing event in San Mateo, CA and we hope you can join us.

IT leaders from some of the largest districts and local education offices in the Bay Area will be on hand for a special briefing on their technology plans for the coming years. The San Jose Unified School District’s mission is to eliminate the opportunity gap and provide every student with the finest 21st century education. San Jose Unified plans to increase access to technology by providing more mobile learning devices in each school, as well as plans to provide staff development for teachers to learn about new technology tools. The Oakland Unified School District serves over 36,000 students. Oakland Unified’s plan is designed to support the premise that technology needs to be an appropriate and comprehensive resource that supports and extends curriculum objectives to improve student achievement and develop lifelong learners. The Napa County Office of Education supports the use of information technology to improve education services. The West Contra Costa Unified School District has nearly 30,000 students and approximately 3,300 faculty and staff. West Contra Costa’s vision is that all students and educators have access to information technology in classrooms, schools, their homes and the community. The district believes that digital content and networked applications transform teaching and learning.

The participants will be briefing the audience on district plans in a variety of topic areas, including computing infrastructure, mobile devices, digital content, professional development, cyber security and their plans to incorporate blended learning models.

This event will allow participants to:
•    Hear directly from CIOs and technology leaders from area school districts
•    Network with fellow industry leaders in the region
•    Learn about the hot issues in the education IT market
