Privatization of Government Services for Better Efficiency

A Look at the Privatization of Government Services for Better Efficiency

During these difficult budgetary times, a panel of experts will lead a discussion of ideas on how the county can use competitive sourcing for greater efficiency in operations while creating economic opportunity for area businesses.

The Chamber has a long-standing policy position of encouraging privatization of government services, whenever possible.  Competitive Sourcing is valuable in reducing county expenditures and resolving deficiencies that would result in countless benefits to the County and the taxpayers during these difficult budgetary times.

Competitive Sourcing can be a very effective tool to conserve and manage government resources, and it is being used by governments throughout the country to improve the delivery of services as well as to lower costs.  Competitive Sourcing also serves to inject new technology into government activities and helps government to allocate its resources toward higher priority inherently governmental activities like education, transportation and public safety.
