Chinese authorities have long been promoting the use of natural gas-fired heating boilers instead of coal to mitigate the effects of urban air pollutants. To reinforce this they also published environment protection regulations on desulfurisation and denitrogenisation and released funds to consolidate old building surfaces and wider application of heat metering. All with the aim of rapidly increasing energy efficiency.

China’s government created the 12 year-plan with a clear goal to reduce carbon emissions and increase environmental protection. Now in it’s final year, the goals of the 12 year plan are being strictly enforced and action plans have been published by the State Council, Ministry of Environment Protection and Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development.
