Concrete and Concrete Repair School

Instruction in concrete and concrete repair techniques and needs common throughout the Bureau of Reclamation is not readily available from other sources outside the bureau. Therefore, the Materials Engineering and Research Laboratory will feature instruction and hands-on training at the 3-day Concrete and Concrete Repair School. The course will focus on the newest standards, techniques, and materials. Ample time will be made available for hands-on exercises that will ensure each student develops knowledge of how to apply the learning experience to problems encountered in the field.

Who Should Attend: This course is intended for engineers, technicians, specification writers, technical project managers, and other staff associated with construction and repair for water resources structures. Objectives: Students will learn concrete construction methods to include quality evaluation of concrete aggregates, concrete materials testing, new construction practices, techniques for repairing existing concrete structures, causes of concrete damage and methods to identify causes of damage. Participants will gain familiarity with materials used such as chemical and mineral admixtures and standard and non-standard repair materials.

Tuition: Tuition is $1,150.00.  Class size is limited to 30 participants. The deadline to register is Friday, October 22, 2010. Participants who cancel without a substitute will be charged full tuition.

Questions on course content may be directed to Mr. William Kepler at 303-445-2386. Registration.
