Some highlights of the review which collected input from more than 150 federal decision-makers include:
- GovEvents saw a 30 percent increase in webinars/webcasts in 2014 over 2013
- In 2013, NASA saved more than $1 million in travel and logistics/venue costs hosting virtual events versus on-site events
- According to the article "Are Government Attendees an Endangered Species?” by Meetings and Conventions, the OMB said it was committed to achieving even greater conference savings in 2014, primarily through cost-effective alternatives such as video conferencing
