Energy Trading CSEE 2015

Energy Trading Central & South Eastern Europe 2015 celebrates its 16th anniversary, establishing itself as the number 1 networking place for energy traders. Last year ETCSEE brought together 425+ senior-level trading experts, of which >60% represented trading firm or utilities.

The ETCSEE conference aims to explore trading opportunities within and outside national borders, and to stimulate the debate around the region's most pressing issues. The platform for energy traders in the CEE and SEE region will be held in Hungary's beautiful capital Budapest - recognised as an important hub for trading and it is conveniently located for the attendees.

At ETCSEE 2015 we will cover the most recent developments in the Balkans, the progress in market coupling, gas hub development and the impact of the political situation in Ukraine and much more.

What are the effects of lower prices, new regulation, oversupply of renewables from Germany for the CEE and SEE markets? The markets, from Poland to the Balkans, might be even more interesting if they could be traded as a whole.

Creating one exchange serving the entire region rather than numerous national exchanges, could make trading in the region more attractive but the problem in Central and Southeastern Europe is that governments often apply certain rules to protect a dominant national utility which is preventing new players to enter the market.

The question remains - will we see harmonization of the CSEE market any time soon? At ETCSEE 2015 we will not only look at the hurdles but also at the new opportunities that may arise, especially in the Balkans and Turkey.

The conference will be developed in the coming months and will be mainly structured around two topic streams, Power Trading and Gas Trading, featuring topics such as:

  • Interconnecting of the CEE & SEE energy market?
  • Day ahead market coupling plans HU-CZ-SK-Ro and beyond
  • REMIT & EMIR regulation
  • What are the trends in the SEE region and in particular in the Balkans
  • Recent developments in Turkey
  • Gas Trading
