AUSA Army Medical Hot Topic

The Association of the United States Army Institute of Land Warfare (ILW) Army Medical Symposium will provide a unique opportunity for senior leaders from industry and the military to interact and share their thoughts on the future of Army Medical worldwide.

The breadth of Army Medicine goes beyond health care delivery in the bricks and mortar of hospitals and clinics. The world class Combat Casualty Care we deliver is the tip of the spear of a complex organization that also serves the Warfighter and our Nation through ongoing research and public health initiatives. 

The objective of this symposium is to increase the momentum of critical partnerships in the military, industry and academia to optimize the Health Readiness of our Soldiers, and provide a pathway to answer some questions that are vital to our National Security.  We hope to discuss how we can we maximally prepare our Soldiers and optimize their health and performance in order to counter any threat to our Nation; how experts in the field advance medical intelligence and surveillance;  how we can better identify the next biological threat prior to it reaching pandemic proportions; how this collaboration can yield better equipment, education and training for the combat medic to save more lives and better improve outcomes; and how Army Medicine can cultivate the paradigm of Health Diplomacy - a soft power that  can assist our partner nations in achieving health security for its people.

Ultimately, the key objective of this symposium is to engage in an open discussion with Army leaders, National partners in industry, academia and joint forces. Together this symposium has the potential to yield tremendous value as we consider the challenges and opportunities as Army Medicine continues to support the Army Operating Concept - "Win in a Complex World".
