Ron Buckhalt Program Manager, USDA’s BioPreferred® program (Moderator)
Mr. Buckhalt manages USDA’s BioPreferred program and has over 40 years of communications and public policy experience, having worked as a Congressional Press Secretary, executive branch political appointee, public relations executive, communications consultant, lobbyist, radio and television newscaster, and video producer. For the last 18 years, he has been a USDA advocate for biobased industrial products.


Linda Mesaros President of Mesaros Associates, Inc., and consultant to the USDA BioPreferred® Program (Presenter)
While in the Federal sector, Ms Mesaros served as Deputy Associate Administrator for Procurement Innovation at the Office of Management and Budget's Office of Federal Procurement Policy , where she managed the environmental and energy procurement efforts for the Federal government for more than 10 years. She also was co-chair of the following procurement teams: performance-based contracting, electronic commerce, contract administration, and small business. She worked for the Army and Navy in the field.


Marie Wheat Industry Economist/Operations Manager, USDA’s BioPreferred® program (Presenter)
Ms Wheat recently managed a first-of-its kind economic report on the biobased products industry. This groundbreaking study of the positive impact of biobased products on American jobs has been downloaded over 172,000 times fromwww.biopreferred.gov.


Crandall Watson, Chief, Procurement Policy Division, OPPM
MR. Watson serves as the Chief of the Procurement Policy Division for USDA's Office of Procurement and Property Management. Crandall has also served leadership roles in contracting and acquisition for the Department of Defense and Department of Health and Human Services, before joining USDA in 2007.
