Strategies to Reduce Waste, Fraud and Abuse in the Government: The Role of Technology

Overview  

According to recent Government Accountability Office (GAO) estimates, losses from waste, fraud, and abuse in federal programs cost the government upwards of $90 billion annually.  President Obama has made reducing these losses a major priority of his administration.

On November 23, 2009, the President Obama issued Executive Order 13519, “Reducing Improper Payments and Eliminating Waste in Federal programs.”  On March 22, 2010, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) published guidance for Agencies to practically implement the Executive Order.

This breakfast panel discussion will explore the intersection of identity management technologies and the Administration’s new strategy for tackling waste, fraud and abuse.
