Reno Air Races: Responding to A Plane in the Stands

During this webcast, Kevin Romero, the Vice President and Public Information Officer for the Regional EMS Authority “REMSA” Reno, NV, will discuss the Police, Fire, and EMS response to the 2011 plane crash into the stands at the Reno Air Races.

Many lessons learned have led to Operational changes still in effect today. Like any event, pre-planning played a large part in the successful response that ultimately transported 54 patients in 62 minutes. But that wouldn't come without some chaos and confusion that is a must share with other response agencies.
