How to Maximize Federal IT Functionality with Fewer Resources and a Smaller Budget.

It’s no surprise that federal agencies are struggling with aging computing infrastructure, legacy software, classified data and shrinking resources –  all while trying to gain efficiencies and improve the citizen experience.

Federal leaders are challenged in rethinking their approach to IT management.  Among the alternatives, is a contractor owned and operated model.  If you’re interested in a case study on how one agency CIO weighed this option and landed on the ideal transition strategy, then you won’t want to miss this live webcast on Dec 16.

In this Federal Times editorial webcast, you will learn:

  • The pros and cons of ‘hosting,’ or handing over applications and data to be maintained on a vendor’s hardware
  • The pros and cons of ‘colocation’ – that is, maintaining ownership of the hardware supported by and housed in a vendor’s data center
  • Factors to consider when formulating an IT migration strategy, including upgrade plans and future technological and capacity requirements
  • The steps needed to ensure data and networks remain secure in both the in-house and outsourced models
  • The real-world financials and cost-benefit analysis and perspective; will you actually save money and how much?

Dr. David A. Bray currently serves as the Chief Information Officer for the Federal Communications Commission, leading FCC's IT Transformation since 2013. Through the efforts of a team of positive "change agents", he transformed the FCC's legacy IT with more than 207 different systems to award-winning tech in less than two years.
