NDIA 2016 SOFIC (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference)

The seventh annual SOFIC (Special Operations Forces Industry Conference) will be held May 23–26, 2016 at the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, FL. This year’s conference theme, “Evolving the Network to Counter Emerging Threats,” reflects the enduring vision of a global Special Operations Forces (SOF) network, acknowledging the SOF network is in place and now must adapt to address present and future threats.

The conference will provide a forum for military, including partner nations, government, academia, and industry stakeholders to network and discuss how to best support global SOF in today’s environment. The conference will open with SOF-centric panel discussions and workshops followed by an address by the USSOCOM Commander, General Joseph L. Votel, USA, and USSOCOM Acquisition Executive, Mr. James F. Geurts, who will provide their perspectives on SOF challenges, trends, and interests and how industry partners can help find shared solutions to support these areas.

Throughout the week, conference attendees will have an opportunity to engage in discussions and Q&A sessions with USSOCOM’s Component Commanders, TSOC Commanders, Senior Enlisted Advisors, Program Executive Officers, and various acquisition experts across the Command. 2016 SOFIC will also include an International SOF Capabilities Demonstration. Attendees will witness a live demo conducted by U.S. SOF and International SOF that will demonstrate SOF sea, land, and air capabilities and display partnership and interoperable tactical capabilities—a must see event!
