Docker Federal Summit

Join us for the inaugural Docker Federal Summit for Federal DevOps & IT Infrastructure leaders.

Learn from your peers and industry leaders how-to modernize your application architectures quickly, securely and cost effectively with Docker. This full day event, with keynotes, product demos, ecosystem innovations and customer success stories will provide agencies the framework to successfully and securely build, ship, and run any app, anywhere.

Agenda

8:00 - 9:00am: Registration, Breakfast and Networking

9:00 - 9:30am: Keynote

9:30 - 10:00am: Modern Application Architecture with Docker

App development is moving toward cloud and microservice architectures. Docker is at the vanguard of that shift providing the enabling platform for app development and delivery. In this session, we’ll examine this shift and how Docker provides the agility, control and portability needed for your modern application architecture to thrive.

10:00 - 10:30am: Understanding the Docker Datacenter Platform

The Docker platform brings together a series of capabilities spanning orchestration, security, scheduling, management, networking and content distribution. In this session we’ll describe how these components form the Docker platform, and how they provide teams with the agility, portability and control needed for modern app architectures to support the software supply chain.

10:30 - 11:00am: Application Security with Docker Least Privilege Design

Distributed application architectures with heterogeneous micro services and connections distributed across the infrastructure require a new security model. This session will discuss how Docker's application security with least privilege design provides key isolation and security properties to your applications and operating environment.

11:00 - 11:25am: Break

11:25 - 12:05pm: Partner Session

Docker Partners share how they are integrating with and extending the Docker platform.

1:25 - 2:25pm: Delivering ‘Containers as a Service’ in your environment

This session will cover the best practices for delivering CaaS in your organization. We’ll cover best practices for typical use cases, with reference architectures and milestones on the way to a CaaS environment, and how the various components of Docker interact and integrate with your existing environment.
