Veterans Hiring Forum: Finding and Retaining Veterans in the Government and Industry

Veterans, Military Spouses and Disabled Veterans are a workforce niche with historically high barriers to access work opportunities with Government and Industry. Hiring and transitioning veterans into the workplace strengthens any organization and The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) has a vested interest in educating our community on this topic.

We are pleased to announce that ACT-IAC will be hosting the Veterans Hiring Forum on April 21, 2016 at the American Institute of Architects in Washington, DC. The half day event will consist of an opening keynote, followed by panel discussions, and a closing. 

Panel topics will include:

• Finding and Retaining Veterans in the Government and Private Sectors
• Industry Issues, Rules and Regulations
• Hiring Veterans within the Federal Government
   

After attending the forum, attendees will have working knowledge of:

• Actual hiring statistics with a focus on demographics of veterans with the highest challenges to employment
• Rules and regulations that dictate hiring of veterans for both government agencies and integrators
• Best practices and multi-tiered approaches for successfully recruiting veterans, military spouses and disabled veterans
• Best practices and case studies for retention of veterans, military spouses and disabled veterans
• Apprenticeship Model, both virtual and onsite, as an innovative process to create an incubator of government and integrator workforce.
