Solutions for Water Hammer: Reduce Your Operational Impacts Webinar

Besides not liking the funny noises that occur in pump stations when a pump shuts down, most water utility personnel do not know what water hammer is or what causes it.  There are detailed presentations on water hammer case studies, but few really explain what water hammer is or how to understand and control it.

This webinar is intended to shed light on the mystery of water hammer, also known as the results of hydraulic transients.  Transient conditions are those sudden transitions that occur in normal operations, such as closing a valve quickly or shutting off a pump.

This webinar will provide practical and technical information about hydraulic transients that operators, designers, and analysts can use for analysis, design, and day-to-day operations.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Answer the question: What is a transient?
  2. Be able to apply mitigation methods.
  3. Determine the tools to use to perform transient analysis on a system.
  4. Close the loop between analysis results and the individual water system.
