China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (known as Airshow China) is the only international aerospace trade show in China that is endorsed by the Chinese central government. It features product displays, trade talks, technological exchanges and a flying display. Since 1996, the show has been successfully held in Zhuhai in every even number year. Its previous show editions include attendees from over 600 companies from 35+ countries and regions with a series of civil and military aircraft from home and abroad, along with more than 100,000 trade visitors who walked the show floor during trade days.

China is regarded as the fastest growing aviation market in the world and its general aviation industry is predicted to grow at an annual average rate of 19% until 2020. China has witnessed massive government and private spending in the aerospace sector which ranks among the fastest growing industries worldwide. In addition, domestic aerospace majors have made their presence on the global front. It is forecasted that the country will buy above 3,700 airplanes by 2028 with an estimated value of U.S. $39 billion.

Airshow China is held biennially in Aviation Industry Park (AIP). Centering Zhuhai Airport, AIP is slated as a national hi-tech industrial base for the aviation industry. With a planned area of 97 sq km, the park craves aircraft assembly, manufacturing of aircraft parts and components, aero and astronautic materials, avionics, numerical control center, aero maintenance, repair and overhaul, aviation training, service and logistics. The AVIC general assembly for Cirrus aircraft became operational in 2012.
