Social Security Administration Security Awareness Day

For the past 40 years, the Federal Business Council has produced thousands of symposiums, expositions, training forums, and conferences, both on-site and off, for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies. 2016 stands to improve upon our schedule, with over 100 events planned.

This event, hosted by the Office of Information Security is intended to raise general computer security awareness for the end-users at SSA.

Over 200 SSA employees from various headquarter components have participated in Security Awareness Day last year.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is Commissioner-led and has a staff of over 80,000 employees within an organizational structure of 13 offices. SSA`s central office is located in Baltimore, Maryland. SSA pays retirement, disability and survivor’s benefits to workers and their families, and administers the Supplemental Security Income program. In addition, they issue Social Security numbers to our Nation’s citizens. The mission of SSA is "To advance the economic security for the Nation’s people through compassionate and vigilant leadership in shaping and managing America’s Social Security programs."

The Social Security Administration continues to be a leader in the innovative use of technology to serve the public. They continue to pursue partnerships with government and business in order to improve their service through shared processing or data sharing.
