Integrated Program Management Conference (NDIA #1IPM)

If you are new to the field, these sessions will help you gain a better understanding of the fundamentals of earned value management (EVM) and its practical applications and benefits. If you are an experienced veteran, the conference will help you stay abreast of new developments and give you a chance to impact evolving trends — your input just might make the difference!

Professional Education Training Seminars

Training seminars are provided as a key element of the Professional Educa- tion Program of PMI-CPM. The training program provides opportunities to improve basic and intermediate integrated program management know- ledge and abilities. Key to our program is gaining a solid foundation in the principles of EVM and a thorough understanding of EVM data analysis tech- niques. Data analysis allows management to identify early deviations from plans and take timely and effective corrective action. The integration of per- formance management, technical metrics and risk management processes are then introduced to the student. Finally, the capstone series integrates

all of these elements and concludes with a case study demonstrating effec- tive use of EVM. To satisfy training needs, the training program focuses on proven and effective processes that are broadly applicable in both industry and the federal government.

The training program structure, consisting of six core areas or tracks, CPM 100 – CPM 600, is presented at each of the conferences. The areas of study in the Professional Education Program Training Seminars include the principles of:

CPM 100 Project Management & Special Topics

CPM 200 Schedule Management

CPM 300 Earned Value Management

CPM 400 EV Metrics and Analysis

CPM 500 Technical & Risk Management

CPM 600 Project Management Integration

Individual course certificates will be awarded for the successful completion of the individual core course exams, e.g., CPM 200. Testing material is based on training program presentations given at the current and previous conferences. Tests will be held at the conference site after completion of the conference on Wednesday, November 10, from 1:30 to 3:45 PM. The test- ing location will be posted during the conference.

Individuals may continue their progress toward earning the Graduate Training Certificate in EVM by successfully completing testing in each of the six areas (previous tests apply) and by submitting your record of attendance at eight PMI-CPM conference symposia presentations or by writing a paper on a PMI-CPM approved integrated project management subject.
