The Essential Role of Career Government Communicators During Transition

It’s that time again. Transition time. The presidential inauguration on January 20 will usher in the countless others set for the coming months. In many government offices, this means change from one administration to another or one appointee to the next.

NAGC President-Elect Chris O’Neil will identify the opportunities transition time presents to career government communicators at every level: to establish themselves as trusted advisers to new leadership, to lay a fresh foundation that supports their roles as communications counselors, and to advocate for transparency in government through disciplined, ethical, and effective communication.

Using recent events as a backdrop, Chris will also:

  • Examine past and recent legislative actions, audits, and changes in the political landscape relating to government communication practices
  • Explore what it means to communicate about political agendas, leadership priorities, and agency initiatives
  • Detail how we can fulfill our duty to instill best communications practices within incoming personnel.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
