Foreign Naval and Maritime Threat Symposium
The Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) and AFCEA Intelligence present the inaugural Foreign Naval and Maritime Threat Symposium, focusing attention on the existing and emerging threats that maritime forces face, the associated intelligence challenges and the opportunities for the Navy and industry to deal with the threats and the intelligence analysis challenges. The Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) will discuss the threats in the littoral areas. The event will be patterned on the 2016 Air Force A-2 ISR Threat Roundtable by providing service-unique perspectives on current and future threats. The event will also provide a foundation for discussions to follow in the Navy Information Warfare Industry Day in June.
During this TS/SCI level event, Lynn Wright, deputy director of Naval Intelligence, and Rear Adm. Robert Sharp, commander, Office of Naval Intelligence, will kick off the day’s program with a strategic perspective of maritime challenges and the associated private sector needs and opportunities. ONI and MCIA experts will provide presentations that describe, in detail, the current and future threat environment with a focus on areas where industry can assist in mitigating threats. Presenters will range from senior experts to junior staff members who are working the problems day-in and day-out.
The presentations will be at the TS/SCI level and will be designed to elicit dialogue with the audience. Experts will be available throughout the day for more detailed follow-up.
