This is an evening of networking combined with an informative presentation by Lance Spitzner, an internationally recognized leader in the field of security awareness and cyber threat research. During the opening reception you will get the opportunity to mingle with other members of your local business community and SANS faculty, world-class Instructors and expert security practitioners. Following the reception Lance will share a riveting presentation on "Securing the Human," a unique and cutting edge approach to enhancing security in your workplace.

The weakest link in any organization is the Human whose 'operating system' is at least ten years behind all other OS security capabilities. This one hour talk is geared toward management personnel responsible for overall business performance. "Securing the Human" addresses everything your organization needs to secure the humans that are attached to your organization. Why are humans so vulnerable? How do cyber attackers exploit those vulnerabilities? And what can we do to 'patch' the vulnerabilities?

While we would normally open our SANS @Night talks only to registered students of SANS San Antonio 2010, we are offering a special promotion for non-technical management and business owners in the San Antonio area to attend this evening event. Speaker and Presenter Information

Mr. Lance Spitzner is internationally recognized as a leader in the field of cyber threat research, training, and security awareness. Mr. Spitzner was a senior security architect for Sun Microsystems, founded the Honeynet Project and has worked with numerous high-level organizations, including the NSA, the Pentagon, The President's Telecommunications Advisory Committee, the British CESG, and Department of Justice. Mr. Spitzner has helped develop and implement security awareness programs for some of the most challenging organizations in the world, including defense, financial, telecommunications and government, ranging in size from 25 employees to over 100,000. Before information security, Mr. Spitzner served as an officer in the Army's Rapid Deployment Force and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
