Military Leadership: Joint Chiefs of Staff

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen is the top military adviser to President Obama and Defense Secretary Robert Gates. Admiral Mullen is responsible for ensuring that our armed forces are fighting current wars as effectively as possible, and for safeguarding the long-term health of the United States military. Abroad, Admiral Mullen is fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, while also keeping an eye on developments in China, Pakistan and Iran. At home, he is overseeing a report on the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, streamlining the military's budgets to make them more efficient, and working to meet military recruitment and retention goals.

Join us for Government Executive's fifth annual Leadership Briefing with Admiral Mullen and hear about how the United States military is taking on more than ever before.
