AFCEA Bethesda Chapter Breakfast Series: Data Center Consolidation – What’s Next for Cloud Computing?

In the last ten years, the number of data centers has more than tripled. With the mandated consolidation policy put into effect in February 2010, departments are beginning to follow recently developed roadmaps for shrinking server farms. The aim of this consolidation policy is to reduce IT costs, lower energy consumption, occupy less real estate, strengthen IT security and expand the use of cloud computing. While there is no set timeline to completing the Federal Data Center Consolidation (FDCC) initiative, agencies have sent their final plans to the Office of Management and Budget for approval by Dec. 31.

Please join AFCEA Bethesda for one of its biggest breakfasts of year drawing between 250-300 senior-executive officers and IT professionals from across industry to discuss plans to consolidate by decommissioning, centralizing and consolidating data center sites with greater use of virtualization and cloud computing.
