SUM 2018 4th Symposium on Urban Mining and Circular Economy



SUM 2018 – 4th Symposium on Urban Mining and Circular Economy, will be held in the suggestive former Monastery of Saint Augustine in Bergamo’s upper city from 21st to 23rd May 2018, will focus on Urban Mining.

 

The following topics will be extensively discussed: Sources and characterization of materials and energy resources in urban spaces • Municipal Solid Waste, commercial and industrial waste, WEEE, depuration sludge, municipal and industrial sludge, demolition waste, food waste, waste tyres • Automotive Shredded Residues • Techniques and criticalities of waste source separation • Recovery centres • Extraction of material and resources • Recirculation pathways and markets • Landfill Mining • Economic and financial aspects • Policy and legal aspects • Environmental balances.

The Symposium will include oral/poster presentation, startups sessions, workshops and commercial.

 

Short papers on the Symposium themes may be submitted for inclusion in the conference programme no later than 31st January 2018.  Papers will be selected following evaluation by an International panel of referees and published on a dedicated volume of Symposium proceedings.
