Government Analytics Breakfast (GAB) Forum



On March 22nd, ​REI Systems and Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Advanced Governmental Studies will host a Government Analytics Breakfast (GAB) Forum at the Johns Hopkins Washington D.C. Center. We are bringing together professionals from government, academia, and the corporate community to discuss how government analytics can enable real-world successes and support learning of critical lessons from actual experience.

 
At this session, you will hear from Melvin Greer, Chief Data Scientist, Intel Corporation​​. His presentation is titled, "Artificial Intelligence: Driving Innovation in Government."

Speaker and Presenter Information

Melvin Greer is Chief Data Scientist for Public Sector Americas, Intel Corporation. He is responsible for building Intel’s data science platform through artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cognitive computing to accelerate transformation of data into a strategic asset for public sector and commercial enterprises. His systems and software engineering experience has resulted in patented inventions in Cloud Computing, Synthetic Biology and IoT Bio-sensors for edge analytics. He functions as a principal investigator in advanced research studies, including Nanotechnology, Additive Manufacturing and Gamification. Mr. Greer is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and U.S. National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine, GUIRR.


In addition to his professional and investment roles, Mr. Greer is Founder and Managing Director of the Greer Institute for Leadership and Innovation, focused on research and deployment of a 21st Century Leadership Model. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Capitol Technology University and on the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Children’s Science Center. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and Technology and his Master of Science in Information Systems from American University, Wash. D.C. He also completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Cornell University, Johnson Graduate School and the Entrepreneurial Finance Post Graduate Program at MIT, Sloan School of Management.
