NACo Legislative Conference 2011

The NACo Legislative Conference is held on an annual basis in Washington, DC.  This meeting brings over 2,000 elected and appointed county officials from across the country to focus on legislative issues facing county government.  Attendees hear from key Administration officials, cabinet secretaries, and members of Congress and are offered a myriad of additional educational opportunities addressing current and hot topic issues. A day of lobbying on Capitol Hill the last day rounds out an information packed Conference that is NOT to be missed.

General Session Speakers    Monday's Featured Speaker

Former Congressman Joe Scarborough (R-FL), aka Morning Joe, will address attendees on Monday, March 7, during the Opening Session of the 2011 NACo Legislative Conference.  MSNBC’s Morning Joe features interviews with top newsmakers and politicians, in-depth analysis of the day’s biggest stories and is described by The New Yorkeras “appallingly entertaining”.

Scarborough asks the tough questions as part of his unyielding pursuit to hold our leaders accountable. A signer of the Contract with America and member of the 1994 Republican takeover of the House of Representatives, the former Florida Congressman has been on the front lines of political history for over a decade. Scarborough talks with audiences about the state of the conservative movement, where it has gone wrong and what leaders in Washington need to do to curb reckless spending. Scarborough is the author of two books including the recently released The Last Best Hope, where he takes on the Republican Party establishment and lays out a way forward for both political parties.
