TACTICAL DATA LINKS 2011: DELIVERING REAL TIME SITUATIONAL AWARENESS

‘Network Centric’ has long been the buzz word that has underlined the developments in military capabilities over recent decades. Underpinning the ‘Network Centric’ approach are the Tactical Data Links which enable the real time transfer of information to tactical units and their command centres.

No data link can meet all operational requirements and for this reason there is no one size fits all solution. There are now a variety of Links to choose from including Link 11, Link 16, Link 22, VMF and IP based Data Links, each having its own strengths and weaknesses.

Instead the focus is on interoperability – ensuring that no matter what Data Link you are operating, the ability to share information with other platforms, services and nations is not lost.

DefenceIQ’s Tactical Data Links 2011 will provide a platform from which to understand the latest developments in link technologies , how to integrate TDLs into existing and legacy platforms and ensure that you are evolving your network to remain interoperable with your NATO and partner nations.
