VMF (Variable Message Format) Summit 2011

The 8th Annual Variable Message Format (VMF) Summit, hosted by the Navy's Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, welcomes industry to showcase their newest technology through exhibit and sponsorship opportunities.

The 2011 VMF Summit provides a unique opportunity for all members of the VMF community to come together in one place to share VMF plans, past experiences, lessons learned, and emerging solutions. Program managers, engineers, standards experts, operators, testers, and trainers representing U.S. military as well as coalition partners from both the air and ground domains are exposed to a wide variety of VMF topics and perspectives.

The VMF Summit will consist of unclassified presentations, panel discussions, new equipment and technology discussions as well as information sharing on topics applicable to VMF and the Close Air Support (CAS) communities. The VMF Summit's discussions will improve efforts towards interoperability between VMF systems in the air and on the ground. Industry Exhibitors are invited to attend the conference sessions.

The conference continues to grow each year, with attendees representing the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Army, Joint Forces Command and Special Operations Command as well as nine foreign allies. Last year's attendees' titles include Flight Test Engineers, Lead Electronics Engineers, Systems Engineers, Avionics Systems Project Officers, Operational Requirements Analysts, and Systems Integration Engineers. Over 250 attendees participated last year, including the Technical Director for Naval Strike Air Warfare Center, Chief for Air to Ground Integration, Chief Plans and Policy Air Ground Operations, Test and Certification Branch Head for SPAWAR, and Director for Tactical Radios Program.
