7th Annual Maritime Security West

The 7th Annual Maritime Security West is the twenty-seventh maritime security program hosted by Homeland Security Outlook since 2011. Maritime Security West furthers a commitment to address the needs of federal, state and local agencies, law enforcement, and military to counter the challenges of securing coastlines, inland waterways, ports and critical infrastructure.

 WHY LOS ANGELES/LONG BEACH?

  • The Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach have been the number 1 and 2 container ports by volume in the U.S. for over the last two decades.
  • The Los Angeles/Long Beach Area received more than $22 million in Port Security Grant Program Awards in the 2017 and 2018 Fiscal Years second only to the New York/New Jersey Area for maritime/port security operations and programs.
  • With the critical importance of the ports and its’ proximity to the U.S. and Mexico border, the LA/LB region has been a hot bed of maritime security and marine law enforcement.
