2019 Scientific Computing Days Symposium

The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Scientific Computing Board (SCB) along with the Office of the Commissioner (OC) are hosting the 7th annual Scientific Computing Days symposium. The FDA Scientific Computing Board is a group of scientists and IT specialists at FDA who advocate for scientific computing needs, and requirements to advance FDA’s scientific and regulatory mission. As a collaborative effort, the 2019 Scientific Computing Days symposium will boast a plethora of scientists, key industry contributors and observers, gathering to help the FDA improve the application of technology, and scientific computing in support of our public health mission. The two-day symposium will include keynote presentations, a booth session, breakout sessions and a digital poster session.

This year’s event theme is Scientific Computing and Health Data Flows: The Heart and Lifeblood of Public Health Innovation, which aligns with the SCB’s FY19 goal of improving data flows both within FDA and with external collaborators. Like the body, scientific computing needs data as the heart needs blood. This year’s Scientific Computing Days symposium recognizes FDA’s need for the easier and greater flow of information in and out of FDA.
