Short Range and Tactical UAVs

Providing timely and responsive ISR support where it is needed most

Mini, micro and tactical UAVs make up over 40% of the unmanned vehicles currently in service with armed forces around the world today. These systems fulfil a vital requirement, providing units with an organic, flexible ISR capability that can stream live video to the individuals on the front line who need it the most. However, tradeoffs inevitably exist in miniaturising systems to the scale where they can be feasibly integrated onto these airframes. How are these tradeoffs to be effectively managed to ensure that commanders in the field get the capability they need?

DefenceIQ is proud to present "Short Range and Tactical UAV's 2011"; the only event in Europe dedicated to tackling the issues unique to these smaller ISR platforms. The event will bring together serving military and industry experts from around the world to discuss the next generation of small UAV technology and the doctrine behind their use.
