SmartCEO and Sheppard Mullin have partnered to create the GovStar program honoring local government contracting firms for their technology innovation, workplace environment, growth, veteran support and contributions to the industry and marketplace.

For the second year, SmartCEO will contribute a portion of the program’s proceeds to the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation. The Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that provides assistance to our Wounded EOD Warriors and their families in the form of financial relief.

GovStar finalists will be divided by size (small, medium and large) within each category and will be featured in the pages of the October issue and celebrated at an awards ceremony in October 2011. Winners will be announced the night of the event in each respective category.

The categories are as follows:

Industry Star: This recognizes a government contractor that is an exemplary leader among his or her peers in the industry. This leader is actively giving back to his or her country through their mentorship and is on the forefront of taking their aspect of government contracting in new directions . (note: nominees are automatically considered for the Industry Star category and can choose one additional category from the list below.)
