Claiming the Unclaimed: How Tax Collectors Can Claim Property to Satisfy Delinquent Taxes

Understanding what Unclaimed Property is and how to obtain it is a valuable asset overlooked by many Tax Collectors. Funds received by local governments through Unclaimed Property programs help rebound budget shortfalls created by delinquent taxes where other collection methods fail. All 50 states have an Unclaimed Property Program, with $32.877 billion dollars currently being held across the nation.  Claiming these funds to apply to delinquent taxes help jurisdictions bridge the gap that many budgets are now facing. Many local governments may also be surprised to learn that unclaimed funds are currently being held in their jurisdiction's name as well. This Webinar takes a practical approach to this collection method using real-life examples for obtaining unclaimed property for delinquent taxes, as well as local government entities. By laying the most common misconceptions to rest, and answering the inevitable How-Do-I-Begin, this webinar will provide the confidence to those who have yet to explore this possibility.
