Biometrics For Government and Defense

Today’s war fighter faces new challenges and threats in the asymmetrical war tactics of terrorists. In response to the dynamic changes wrought by modern warfare, biometric capabilities are now being used to aggressively fight terrorism, and they offer the single most effective tool for identifying and tracking enemies. Leveraging the full range of multimodal biometrics there is now the ability to uncover suspects that hide in plain view, access forensic evidence linking suspects to past attacks, and track and neutralize terrorists before they strike. The marcus evans Biometrics for Government and Defense conference will look at the important role that biometrics play in prosecuting the global war on terrorism, protecting America’s troops and securing national security interests. As part of the focus on homeland security attention will be placed on border security including immigration reform and multinational partnerships for biometrics identity management, with interactive discussion at the second and third workshops entitled “Using Biometrics to Reinforce US Immigration and Border Security” and “Introducing Biometrics to Ethiopia's Border Security and Immigration Enforcement. The first focus day workshop entitled “Biometric Technologies: emerging Concepts” will discuss some of the non-mainstream modalities and the legal and political implications of their use.
