Identifying the Different Types of Employees (Entrepreneurs, Managers, Technicians) and How to Utilize Them

For decades, companies have had a corporate ladder of promotions and succession planning that has worked by chance, rather than by design. In the process, employees have been mislabeled and put in jobs to work positions they are not most fit for and have been overlooked for those they belong in, simply by “luck”. We now know that there are three different employee types: the entrepreneur, the manager, and the technician; each which holds necessary and inherent value in itself. They are each necessary and special in their own way, and as managers, we must know how to identify and utilize them from an early stage if they are to stay and succeed at our company. Having this mentality, however, starts with support from leadership strategy looking to move forward with this innovative approach to the workforce and culture.

Why Should You Attend

Of the three employee types, most people are one of the three, but rarely more than two of the three. Do you know which employees are which at your organization? It’s not based on where they actually are, but based on where they naturally belong. Misplacement will create extreme inefficiency and lead to less productivity, but proper placement can create a well oiled machine with excellent output.
