This participant-interactive session will explain the Yellow Book’s Threats and Safeguards approach to remaining ethical dilemmas and then examine some recent real-world ethics cases in other professions.
Participants will be able to discuss each case and weigh in on:
- What ethical principles were involved (and why they are important)?
- Were the “right” decisions made?
- Were there better solutions?
- Why were those involved blind to the ethical conundrums?
- What are the lessons for accountability professionals?
These cases will illustrate why it is sometimes easy to fall prey to ethical transgressions and how we, as accountability professionals, can train ourselves to avoid ethics traps.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Gain an understanding of the Yellow Book’s Threats and Safeguards approach to resolving ethical dilemmas.
- Learn to recognize “threats” to remaining ethical.
- Assess the ethical principles of other professions and compare them to our profession’s principles.
- See the ramifications of failing to remain ethical.
- Understand how the Threats and Safeguards approach relates to the AGA Code of Ethics.
