IEEE 2675 DevOps Standard to Build Reliable and Secure Systems



IEEE 2675 standard specifies technical principles and practices to build, package, and deploy systems and applications in a reliable and secure way. The standard focuses on establishing effective compliance and IT controls. It presents principles of DevOps including mission first, customer focus, shift-left, continuous everything, and systems thinking. It also describes how stakeholders, including developers and operations staff, can collaborate and communicate effectively. Co-authors will discuss their personal experience applying the principles and practices in organizations.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Bob Aiello is a DevOps/CM/ALM architect, trainer and coach who has led process improvement initiatives across leading financial services, medical and engineering firms with a focus on software and systems security and reliability. 

 

Ruth Lennon of Craobh Technology Consulting, has been a member of many technical panels and committees including ISO/IEC/ JTC 1 /SC 38 on Cloud Computing and Distributed Platforms as well as the ISO/IEC/JTC 1/SC 7 on Software and Systems Engineering. 

 

Dr. Lynn Robert Carter serves as a technical advisor with RevTek Solutions supporting government and industry domains. 

 

Altaz Valani, Director of Insights Research at Security Compass, manages the overall research vision and team. He is a regular conference speaker who conducts ongoing research in the Software Security domain. 

 

Sarah Baker is manager of technology, people and information with experience in startups, education and research environments.

 

Paul Bruce is a DevOps Advisor, helping to transform enterprise software teams and delivery practices.

 

Our Moderator is Hasan Yasar is the Technical Director of the Continuous Deployment Capability effort at the SEI. Yasar leads an engineering group tasked on developing prototype solutions with DevSecOps. He specializes in secure software solutions design and development in the cybersecurity domain, including digital investigation, incident management, and large-scale malware analysis. He is an adjunct faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University.
