Minneapolis, MN: Simple Ways to Share Technology and Save Operational Costs

Current economic conditions make it imperative that government organizations partner in new ways to better leverage their technical infrastructure and improve public services.  Failure to do so creates a missed opportunity that can no longer be afforded.

From four states collaborating on a cloud based solution for GIS data to the eCityGov alliance which includes 39 municipalities, government organizations are re-thinking how they provide services and who they partner with.  We have clearly reached a moment in history where budget woes and technology innovation offer a unique opportunity to work in new and innovative ways.

The Center for Digital Government and Government Technology invite you to participate in a special event designed to share what other organizations are doing and to explore key success factors that enable new delivery models.

Specifically you will learn:
  • How community collaboration is being evaluated and rewarded in the grant process with the Federal Government
  • Ways to improve operations and reduce over-all cost by sharing information technology infrastructure with community partners
  • Real examples from jurisdictions that have overcome historical barriers to create new models for resource sharing and community success
