The pandemic was a catalyst for governments to evolve their people, processes, and technology to better serve citizens at home. The Commonwealth of Virginia expanded an existing program to centrally secure and share critical COVID-19 data, and Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training transitioned their overwhelmed call center system to a high-functioning UI process in less than two weeks.

Prior to his appointment, Carlos Rivero served as Chief Data Officer and Chief Enterprise Architect for the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration in Washington, D.C. Rivero has also worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Southeast Fisheries Science Center in Miami, Florida.
