Solutions for Quantum Computing and Communications
The quantum “space race” is officially upon us. Worldwide commercial, university and government entities are accelerating development to build functioning quantum technologies with the potential to revolutionize computing and communication applications. At the heart of quantum lies the qubit, a quantum version of the classical bit realized as a two-level system of simultaneous states of 1 and 0. Researchers alike are studying qubits to understand how quantum mechanical properties of superposition and entanglement can be manipulated for real-world use cases. Many challenges lie ahead though, such as ability to control and scale to hundreds of qubits while minimizing the effects of noise and crosstalk added to the system. To overcome these challenges, Keysight offers quantum engineering solutions including scalable, high-performance qubit control systems that when combined with Labber software, will handle instrument control, signal generation, qubit calibration, and device testing. In this lecture we will examine the current state of quantum computing and how to control and measure a qubit using software and hardware solutions built by Keysight.
