Innovare Elevation Series: Lunch & Learn with Lt. Col. Dean Korsak - Blockchain Tech & Crypto



New technologies create new challenges and opportunities. Bitcoin and its underlying blockchain technology increasingly impact all facets of society. Bitcoin’s status as digital gold is merely the tip of this technology. Lt. Col. Korsak will provide, in person, a basic overview of the history of Bitcoin and blockchain technology focusing on blockchain use cases for military interests and criminal law hurdles, created by cryptocurrency.

This event will be a Lunch & Learn, allowing the audience to interact and ask questions after the presentation. You can attend this virtually, or feel free to attend at the Griffiss Institute Auditorium at the Innovare Advancement Center. Registration is required.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Lt. Col. Korsak is the Staff Judge Advocate for the Air Force Research Laboratory, Information Directorate, Rome, New York. He and his team provide full spectrum legal counsel to enable the Air Force’s and nation’s premier research organization for advanced Command, Control, Communications, Cyber and Intelligence (C4I) technologies. The command is comprised of 1,200 personnel and executes a $2 billion annual budget. The Directorate’s mission is to explore, prototype and demonstrate high-impact, paradigm-changing technologies that enable the Air Force and nation to maintain its superior technical advantage.

 

Lt . Col. Korsak began his military career completing a five year enlistment as an electronics technician for communications, navigational, radar, and power systems, attaining the rank of Sergeant. After completing undergraduate and law school, he engaged in a variety of work, including a clerkship for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and owned and operated a real estate investment and residential rental property company. In 2008, he commissioned as a judge advocate in the Air National Guard, then transferred to active duty in 2009. He is married and has one son.
