Created BY the Data Management Community, FOR the Data Management Community

During the last 12 months, the Geo Maritime team has conducted thorough research with the hydrography, bathymetry and maritime surveillance communities. We enlisted the services of some of the leading players in the community to help us make sure that we are delivering the conference to meet the needs of the maritime surveillance community.

Geo Maritime 2012 has been designed through feedback from our esteemed industry advisory board, which has made sure that only the current, most challenging and pressing issues in the data management community are tackled. Our Advisory Board Members include:

    About Geo Maritime 2012:

Geo Maritime 2012 is Europe’s only conference where industry, defence, government and commercial organisations will gather to exploit the benefits of maritime geospatial information and current issues facing the maritime surveillance sector.

Maritime safety and security are paramount and effective information sharing is the key enabler in achieving this. The maritime environment is a complex domain involving many stakeholders including you. As you experience the onset of international, regional and national standards coupled with the evolving threats to maritime surveillance you are faced with some difficult decisions on how to better exploit geospatial information opportunities amidst shrinking budgets.

Geo Maritime 2012 will provide you with the opportunity to effectively navigate these difficult decisions to achieve systems and data interoperability and maximum return. Recognising the complexities and multiple uses of geospatial information in the maritime domain, the Geo Maritime agenda has been designed by your industry counterparts to ensure that only the most valuable topics are addressed.

Topics to be discussed will include:

    • Reinforcing international collaboration within maritime surveillance - strategies and best practices
    • S100 Standards – what will the standards mean for you and how can you prepare for them?
    • Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI)
    • Metadata requirements and implementation
    • Reconfirming geospatial information as a force multiplier in current and future operations
    • The convergence of land and sea data
    • Achieving greater efficiency in data acquisition
    • Technology showcase – review the latest hydrographic technologies
    • The latest operational and tactical lessons learned in geospatial information, surveillance and imagery
    • Effective information management to deliver real time accurate maritime geospatial information
