The recent executive order and Office of Management and Budget memorandum has made it clear that we need to be heading towards a zero-trust architecture. But when we examine the cultural shift required to reach that goal, we may be moving forward but we’re really moving back to the future.

Security used to be straightforward. You could only access what you needed to know, when you needed to know it. This was true whether it was a locked door in a secure facility or corporate systems granting the appropriate level of access to an on-premises network based on location, seniority or role. But then the cloud changed the way we did things. We relaxed that rigid control, for a host of reasons.

Zero trust insists we trust no one, and verify everyone before they come through the locked door into our secure room or segmented network. It goes back to identity-based authentication and access controls so that bad actors can’t exploit easily compromised credentials to gain privileged access, move around the network and steal sensitive data. The future of cybersecurity demands it and the zero-trust architecture simply defines it.

During this webinar, we'll discuss the challenges of this journey and offer guidance on ways to ease it.
