6th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV2012)

The 6th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV2012) will take place in Albany, NY, United States from October 22-25, 2012. This year’s conference is expected to bring together 300 practitioners, developers and researchers from government, local municipalities, academia, industry and civil society from over 50 countries from all over the world.

Worldwide, governments are wrestling with a wide range of social and political challenges and are looking to innovations in technology, in the institutions of government and in the interactions between government and citizens to help them meet these challenges. This year's conference program calls attention to the role of openness in fostering transparency, participation, accountability and smarter government. In addition, ICEGOV encourages participants to push thinking on measurement and evaluation beyond current models and techniques and to pay particular attention to the ways research and practice can effectively align Electronic Governance initiatives with major policy programs to ultimately provide value to citizens.

ICEGOV2012 is organized by the Center for Technology in Government, University at Albany, SUNY, in collaboration with the United Nations University - IIST Center for Electronic Governance as the founder and coordinator of the ICEGOV conference series.
