Speaker and Presenter Information

Hon. Jane Harman is the Director, President, and CEO of the Woodrow Wilson Institute for Scholars. Mrs. Harman earned a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and earned a law degree from Harvard. After graduating from law school, she served as chief counsel and staff director for the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights. She also served in the Executive Branch as special counsel to the Department of Defense, and as Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet. Mrs. Harman represented California’s 36th Congressional district, serving for sixteen years, until she resigned in February 2011.
