AAFEA 18th Annual Leadership Development Workshop - Hybrid

This year’s workshop theme Leadership Dimensions – Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) reinforces the significance of DEIA as a leadership competency and imperative.  The workshop will be held September 19-21, 2022, as a hybrid event.  We will convene in person at the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center located at 3501 University Blvd., Hyattsville, Maryland, and virtually.

As we imagine the future of work in the federal government, recent Executive Orders have laid a solid foundation upon which we must design and implement sustainable strategies and solutions that ensure that DEIA is woven into every facet of an organization’s culture and business operations. As such, knowledgeable and informed DEIA leaders are the catalyst of this systemic shift.

We have an opportunity and an obligation to shape the workplace of the future reflecting our rich diversity, and leading with equity, inclusion, and accessibility, for all. This year’s workshop will highlight the latest government initiatives, best practices, and innovative solutions that will inform and inspire each of us to answer the call to action – to advance DEIA and strengthen our federal government. 

We have an impressive line-up of speakers and presenters, to include our opening day keynote speakers, Ms. Ursula Burns, former CEO of Xerox Corporation and first African American woman to lead a Fortune 500 company and Ms. Rita M. Sampson, Director, Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, Securities and Exchange Commission.
