Think Like a Hacker: Inside the Minds & Methods of Modern Adversaries
It’s typical for defenders to learn about the latest adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) from a defense perspective – meaning TTPs are viewed from the lens of “how to mitigate this or prevent it from happening again.” Unfortunately, adversaries are smart problem solvers and can quickly adapt to changes made in enterprise security defenses, and even countermeasures. What is it like to view TTPs through the eyes of an adversary?
In this survey, a partnership between SANS and Bishop Fox, we did exactly that. By polling hundreds of ethical hackers, we wanted to gain a deeper understanding of what makes adversaries successful. Some of our key takeaways include:
- What are hackers’ favorite vectors and how often do they update their tactics?
- What are the top risks and vulnerabilities hackers encounter?
- What works and what doesn’t?
- How easily and quickly can hackers break in and gain access to high-value targets?
- How do hackers view “other” technologies such as cloud or IOT?
Join us for this webcast on September 27, 2022 at 3:30 ET, where SANS instructor Mat Bromiley and Bishop Fox’s Tom Eston, the Associate VP of Consulting, review the results of the survey and discuss what these mean for the industry. We hope to see you there!
